Work towards an expansion of the current African Studies Program
My name is Tanya Shum, and I am running for re-election to become your AUS VP Academic.
Over this past year as VP Academic I have worked to promote the academic side of the AUS. I worked to bring more student reps to the Faculty of Arts Committee Meetings, organized Meet the Dean Sessions, promoted undergraduate research conferences, put on wellness events and organized the Arts Last Lecture featuring George Stroumboulopoulos!
This year I hope to continue the work I started with the AAI to expand the African Studies Program. I also promise to provide more E3’s to arts students to help them gain invaluable experience to give them a competitive edge upon graduation. Lastly I plan to organize an Arts Undergrad Research Conference to bring arts disciplines together and promote undergraduate research.
