My Name is Ekateryna Baranovskaya, and I want to represent you on the UBC Senate. Currently, I sit on the AUS council as an AMS representative, giving me ample experience in representing the diverse arts faculty. I am the chair of the AMS’s University and External Affairs Committee (UNECORN), am a member of the AMS Student Life and Communications Committee (StudLyCom) and a member the AUS Internal Committee. My passion for enriching student life and my pursuit of the facts in all I undertake make me an ideal candidate for Senate. Outside of Student government I spend my time working with the World Model United Nations as a co-chair for the Legal Committee, painting, and running a blog of my favourite art. Hi there! I’m Mary Leong, a fourth-year Political Science and Psychology student running to be your Arts student senator. I’m passionate about higher education and finding new ways to help students build the best university experience possible. Throughout my past four years at UBC, I have been involved with clubs, the Arts Undergraduate Society, RezLife, and more. During these experiences, students have shared their academic and wellness concerns with me, and every story is thought-provoking. Working with the Faculty of Arts over the past year and a half has also provided me with unique insights into the administrative process and faculty perspectives surrounding student issues. I bring with me an understanding of both student and faculty priorities, and can effectively push for action on key issues that concern students. In my spare time, I enjoy baking in a bathrobe. I also consider reblogging funny cat pictures on Tumblr a productive use of my time. For more information please visit the candidates website. This candidate has received an endorsement. |
